A recovered clip of the 3 unknown World Chorus kids!

 Only a small update today, but I managed to go through my emails and dig up a clip of the 3 unknown kids in full, complete with the audio! Now we haven’t lost anything at all, apart from their canonical designs, but you already know my versions hehe.

A small hypothesis to back up my theory of these 3 being inside the blue/white building near the Eiffel Tower is that they were in a larger window, same with the other characters who were recorded (Julia inside the windmill, the choir inside the large Greek temple window), so that adds some credibility to my theorycrafting I did the other time.

On top of that, the recording also shows some text banners, but they’re very blurry and hard to read, but they aren’t exactly clear, due to the recording’s age. They don’t appear in other videos though, so that’s odd, they’re either strings of text or one word, as seen in this video:

If anyone has anything to give context as to what these were, this video (which has since been removed from YouTube and now only exists as a small clip and with my voiceover overtop thanks to my quick thinking and impulsivity to make character designs when I discovered it haha) is the only video online featuring those 3 lost children and the banners in question, making me believe it must be quite old.


I haven’t been able to find much else recently, it’s all luck-based I’m afraid, and whenever I do find things I try and update, but I do need your help again, so please send me anything through email or Instagram if you find anything new or are comfortable with sharing any of your own home photos, videos etc. Anything and everything is appreciated as long as it’s related to the World Chorus post show!

Overview These are images of the buildings inside World Chorus. The walls of the attraction were decorated in yellow, purple, pink and orange, and had handrails to guide people and also avoid them getting too close to the buildings and characters inside, likely to keep illusions and ensure there was no damage. A critique of a 20-year-old paper by Laudan Nooshin (Circumnavigation with a Difference? Music, Representation and the Disney Experience: It’s A Small, Small World)

Hey guys! This is a slightly different type of post to usual, but a while ago I stumbled on an academic paper called ‘Circumnavigation with a Difference? Music, Representation and the Disney Experience: It’s A Small, Small World’, and as an it’s a small world enthusiast, I wanted to look into the paper and what it might be talking about. However, I think Nooshin fundamentally misses the purpose for which the ride is created. Whilst I can’t claim to be an authority on Orientalism or very well versed in music theory, I want to create a counter-argument for Nooshin’s claim based on the message that the Disneyland Paris version of it’s a small world and the park as a whole aims to share, and reveal the idea that the ride’s simplicity of nature is what makes it so beautiful, alongside how the park humanises the ‘other’ and encourages us to explore perspectives beyond our own.
