About me!

Hello! I’m MarionetteAngie, or GoldenHeartArt_, but feel free to call me Golden! I’m an artist and Youtuber who enjoys singing, writing and archiving, and this is my blog! On this blog I will be uploading all images, videos and content I find of World Chorus, the 1992 post show of it’s a small world in Disneyland Paris. I don’t own any of these images or videos unless stated, and therefore credit goes to the original owners. I am a pseudo-archivist who is passionate about preserving the information of this lost post show, and I hope to bring awareness and remind people of the power of human connection, as shown by this addition to an already brilliant attraction. As for some info about myself, I have been visiting Disneyland Paris since I was 4, with my last visit being 2015, and I got to experience the post show firsthand when I was small, and it stuck with me my entire life, being my favourite part of the park. I will always remember when it closed, but the place stays in my heart, and thus I also have a portfolio of artworks for anyone who wishes to view my work, as well as occasionally uploading some fun headcanons and silly content about the characters every so often. I also have a redbubble where you can purchase products I've made inspired by the post show, if you so desire. I hope you enjoy my efforts and appreciate the work I’ve done, and will support this endeavour to preserve this beautiful attraction!

My birthday is the 2nd of October!

I have been to 3 Disney parks- Paris, WDW and California, and I hope to visit every Small World in the entire world!

I have also been on a Disney Cruise, the Wonder, and I loved the Disney Dreams show!

I have a lot of It’s a small world inspired characters, most famously, Jules (inspired by the World Chorus conductor) and Zuri!

My favourite Disney movies are Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, and Wish!

The Buildings of World Chorus!

Overview These are images of the buildings inside World Chorus. The walls of the attraction were decorated in yellow, purple, pink and orange, and had handrails to guide people and also avoid them getting too close to the buildings and characters inside, likely to keep illusions and ensure there was no damage. The room was framed to hide the lighting through the use of several orange clouds, which also gave the appearance of a spiral, and the entire room gave the idea of enlarging, as the animation became progressively more and more advanced as the buildings increased in scale and size. A critique of a 20-year-old paper by Laudan Nooshin (Circumnavigation with a Difference? Music, Representation and the Disney Experience: It’s A Small, Small World)

Hey guys! This is a slightly different type of post to usual, but a while ago I stumbled on an academic paper called ‘Circumnavigation with a Difference? Music, Representation and the Disney Experience: It’s A Small, Small World’, and as an it’s a small world enthusiast, I wanted to look into the paper and what it might be talking about. However, I think Nooshin fundamentally misses the purpose for which the ride is created. Whilst I can’t claim to be an authority on Orientalism or very well versed in music theory, I want to create a counter-argument for Nooshin’s claim based on the message that the Disneyland Paris version of it’s a small world and the park as a whole aims to share, and reveal the idea that the ride’s simplicity of nature is what makes it so beautiful, alongside how the park humanises the ‘other’ and encourages us to explore perspectives beyond our own.
